There are numerous opportunities to be IN SERVICE at First Church the following might be of interest to you:
A month of Sundays - Future Leaders Being Trained @ 1UMC
Based on the response of the Children's Church during Sept.-Oct. we will continue this program until the end of the year, gut we MUST have some committed volunteers for the New Year. This small group of children is such a blessing and so rewarding to work with. They bring joy to your morning that last ALL WEEK! However, our Church requires TWO adults in each time frame (two at 9:00, two at 11:00). There are usually about 2-5 kids in each group and the lessons are planned for you (unless you would like to make your own plans). Sign up for one month of Sundays and get to know the future. Would you like to help raise money for those less fortunate than you and have fun and fellowship too? Come to the Craft Room every Thursday, starting at 9:00 a.m. and stay as long as you want and work on crafts to be sold at the Holiday Bazaar. Money goes to missions locally and world wide to help those in need.
*Day-time help needed with various projects around the church. There is always a need for help with changing bulletin board displays, preparing Sunday School rooms and other meeting areas, and many other time-consuming tasks that allow our ministries to be welcoming and user friendly. If you could volunteer to help during the day, please the church office 532-7153.
*Sunday School - The search continues for Sunday School teachers. If you are a person who loves children and youth and wants to help them grow in their knowledge of our Lord and Savior, contact Ann Holley@ 532-7153
Safe Sanctuary Training -- If you are an adult interested in lending a hand as a part of the children's or youth ministry here at First UMC, you must be Safe Sanctuary certified. Next Training date: Ann Holley at the church - 532-7153 for information on training dates.
