Emerge Student Ministry

The power of Jesus Christ is transformational,
and this is what the Student Ministry of First UMC calls teenagers to experience and explore.  Students in grades 6-12 are invited to join in the pursuit of a lifestyle wholly committed to God as we encounter what it means to have a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Sunday School

The Junior High (Grades 6-8) and High School (Grades 9-12) students meet in their respective classes for Sunday School at 9 a.m.

The Junior High students dig deeper into the historical context and meaning of Scripture, participate in lesson-related activities, and pray together.

The High School students decide together which topics they would like to study as a class, making this a tailored class that is both timely and relevant.

Emerge Sundays

The Junior High and High School youth groups meet from 5 to 7 p.m. every Sunday for youth group.

The students share a meal, participate in student-led worship, and then break out into their respective grades for age-appropriate Bible studies focused on a variety of topics.

At the end of each night, we join back together for off-the-wall, active, and fun group games!

Emerge Wednesdays

Wednesday youth gatherings are seasonal and take place from 5:30-7:30pm for all students.

After dinner, the students break out into girl’s and guys’ groups for relevant Bible studies.
