Hello, my name is Katilyn Gibson. It is a tremendous honor and a true blessing to serve as your pastor. I am deeply grateful and humbled that God has called me to this congregation, and I look forward to growing in faith together as we seek to follow Jesus Christ.
To tell you about my family I have an amazing husband, Isaac, who is also a United Methodist pastor, and together we are blessed with our wonderful son, Dean. Our family is grateful for the opportunity to serve Christ through ministry, and we cherish the relationships we build within the church and the community.
My call to ministry began during the 2012 Missouri Annual Conference. As I listened to the bishop share the story of his own call, I distinctly sensed God asking me, "Doesn't that sound familiar?" In that moment, I knew God was calling me into pastoral ministry and impressing upon my heart that one day I would return to Annual Conference to stand on the ordination stage. That calling has faithfully guided every step of my journey.
I earned bachelor's degrees in Religion and Church Leadership and General Business from Central Methodist University, graduating in 2017. In 2022, I completed my Master of Divinity at St. Paul School of Theology. Continuing my commitment to lifelong learning and faithful leadership, I earned a Masters of Business Administration with an emphasis in Nonprofit Management from Dakota Wesleyan University in 2025. In 2026, My call to ordained ministry came to fruition and I was ordained as an Elder in The United Methodist Church.
I am passionate about building meaningful relationships, walking alongside people in every season of life, and sharing the hope and transforming love of Jesus Christ. I believe the Church is at its best when we worship, serve, learn, and grow together.
I am excited to be in ministry with you as we seek to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. I look forward to seeing all that God has in store for our church as we faithfully answer His call together.
